Child Care

Whether your need for child care is large or small, we encourage you to check out the Jungle, where special care and attention is given to the 3 to 6 year olds. In a state certified environment our staff delights in offering a wide range of developmentally appropriate play opportunities for children. The Jungle is designed with flexibility in mind, for both parents who work in and out of the home; the times that care are offered match beautifully with our Preschool classes and yet also can be utilized to add simplicity to weekly play days.
Preschool

The D. Ford McCormick Child Development Center provides experiences rich with nurturing. Loving, energetic professionals encourage the developmental growth of language, social, emotional & life skills. Our center-based environment is designed with each unique child's age and developmental needs in mind. Centers offer exploration with  science and math labs. Individual expression in arts and dramatic play are fostered. Small and large motor skill experiences are integrated into all centers. Each teacher reflects the importance of the core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. Special weekly attention is also given to both swim lessons and movement education. 10:1 ratio, State-Certified.

Afterschool Care
At the YMCA we view youth as assets to our community while reinforcing positive values in a caring atmosphere. Under the guidance of positive role models, youth build confidence and trust by making friends through a unique mix of age appropriate activities that will help develop their creativity, self-esteem and instill the values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.
Staff lead youth with a supportive communication style that build positive decision making skills, leadership and a value for community service.   Afterschool program components include recreation, CATCH (Coordinated Approach To Child Health), arts, science, snacks, character development, and daily homework assistance.   In a collaborative effort with schools, families, and community agencies the YMCA strives to meet the needs of each individual child.
Thanks to School District 549C and School District 4, the Rogue Valley Family YMCA offers state certified afterschool programs at the following elementary schools: Jacksonville, Abe Lincoln, Griffin Creek, Jefferson, Lone Pine, Hoover, Kennedy, Wilson, Orchard Hill and the YMCA Main Facility.  For schools not listed, your child may be transported to another YMCA location, by district approval through the school’s bus system.
