YOUTH & FAMILY FITNESS
All youth and family fitness classes are included with membership! In addition, learn about Y5210.
Homeschool PE
This physical education program for ages 3-17 is designed to build personal fitness, enhance skill development and meet friends along with playing age appropriate games. It is convenient for homeschoolers because there is also a group exercise class at this time for parents. You must register although there is no fee for current Y members. Offered each year from September to May. Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:00pm to 3:00pm for ages 3-12. Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:00pm to 4:00pm for ages 13-17.
Jr. Fitness
Youth ages 7 to 12 stay physically active during the summer as a compliment to the Homeschool PE program. Class meets in the climbing gym and use the youth center, gymnasium and playground. Parent or guardian must stay in the YMCA facility. Offered June to August each year. Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8:30am to 10:30am.
Tumble Tots
Children ages 1 to 5 will playfully skip, leap and cartwheel their way toward better balance, coordination and self-confidence. The class meets in the climbing gym. Parents are required to attend. Thursdays from 11:15am to 11:45am.
Movement and Music
Children ages 1 to 5 join in for singing, dancing, stories, rhymes and music-making. The class meets in the aerobic studio. Parents are required to attend. Tuesdays from 11:15am to 11:45am.
Y-Games
Youth ages 7 to 17 enjoy a variety of activities such as basketball, dodge ball, floor hockey, indoor soccer and volleyball. Y-Games are supervised by youth center staff and are held in the gym. Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 4:30pm to 5:30pm.
Youth Strength
Youth ages 10 to 17 will learn weight room etiquette and the proper form to help prepare them for a lifetime of fitness. Classes are held in the Fitness Center with supervised instruction. Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:00pm to 4:30pm.
