The Aquatics program at the Rogue Valley Family YMCA includes swimming lessons, fitness and therapy programs, lifeguard training and open swimming in our 25 yard pool (with the fun WATER SLIDE!!).
Swimming lessons are available for people of all ages. Our Parent-Tot program is for children 6 months to 3 years and requires parental participation. Our Pre to Kindergarten program is designed for ages 3 to 5, and our School Age program is for ages 6 and up. Adult lessons are also available.
Several water fitness programs are available, including:
- H2O Step Aerobics: Low impact step aerobics using a step and water resistance for a full body workout.
- Deep Water Fitness: Participants wear aqua jogger belts and use water weights to get a full body and cardiovascular workout.
- Water Fitness: Stimulating full-body workout using water resistance to achieve a vigorous workout.
- Sassy Seniors: Low intensity water fitness offers a wonderful social aspect and includes stretching, flexibility and toning exercises.
- Water Wellness: Range of motion and balance.
- Theraputic Mobility: Conducted in the therapy pool, this class is designed to help improve joint flexibility.
- Prenatal Fitness: Prenatal fitness is incorporated into all of our water fitness classes. Feel free to give any a try! We recommend Water Wellness, Shallow Water Fitness and Step Aerobics.
Lifeguard Training is available in February for those who wish to learn the skills to become a certified lifeguard and receive Red Cross certifications in First Aid, CPR and Lifeguarding.
