One in 12
One in twelve kids in Jackson County is served by the Rogue Valley Family YMCA. Whether it is through a safe and caring child care environment, a fun and confidence-building sports league, or an educational and motivational mentoring program, YMCA staff and volunteers work to reinforce the character values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.

Youth and Child Guidelines

When you become a YMCA member, you're setting yourself on a lifelong journey of healthy spirit, mind and body. You're becoming part of an association that does everything from child care to health and fitness to youth development to the arts and humanities, and much, much, more. As a YMCA member, you have many benefits but you have some responsibilities, too. You will be asked to get involved and be a champion for the YMCA values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. You may be asked to volunteer or contribute to the Y's annual support campaign that underwrites membership assistance for those who cannot afford the full fees. The YMCA involves members in offering their time, talent and treasure, for the greater good.

The Rogue Valley Family YMCA is a membership organization that seeks to serve all those who join our association. Although membership is not required to participate in programs, members receive a variety of benefits by having a YMCA membership.

Join the YMCA, and feel the difference in your life.
You'll discover energy you never thought you had. You'll discover new friendships, new interests and new skills. You'll discover your family. Whether you're looking for a place to get fit and relieve stress, a caring child care environment or a volunteer program to give something back to your community, you will find it at the YMCA.

The YMCA is an association of people of all incomes, ages, abilities, religions and ethnic backgrounds. It works to nurture the healthy development of children and teens, support families and strengthen communities.

When you join a YMCA, you help not only yourself and your family but the entire community. Along with the many precious hours of volunteer time and the dollars that are contributed, membership fees make it possible for your YMCA to respond to community needs and to make sure it is accessible to everyone, regardless of income.

Many people are surprised at the variety of programs at the YMCA. At the Y, youth can learn how to swim, learn the values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility in a youth sports program or an exciting day camp or resident camp experience. Teens can take part in social activities that are educational, responsible and fun. Adults can choose from a variety of activities including aerobics, cardiovascular conditioning and strength training.

Youth and Child Guidelines
Please be advised that the Rogue Valley Family YMCA staff exercise general supervision over the conduct of patrons, but cannot control or be accountable for individual children left unattended on the premises. It is therefore the parents or guardian's responsibility to ensure that each child is behaving and acting in a safe, respectful and responsible way while on the YMCA premises.

For your child's safety, unsupervised youth 12 & under will not be allowed to enter the building unless they are in a supervised activity or with an adult (18+). Here are some age specific examples to better help you make the right choice for your child while at the Y: Youth 6 and under must be with an adult or in a supervised program (i.e. childwatch, movement & music, swim lesson).

A 7+ yr old can be in: open swim, youth center, kids club, Ygames, rockwall and other supervised activities. A 13+ old can be in: all lower areas of the building, with the exclusion of all adult and family locker rooms and may participate in all group exercise classes.

In order to use the fitness center, children must be 13+ or work out in tandem with an adult. Want to register for a program? Here's how: Walk In Visit us at 522 West Sixth Street, Medford OR 97501.
