Volunteers are the foundation of the YMCA - George Williams, the founder of the YMCA in 1844, was a community volunteer who saw a need and created the YMCA to fill it.
The Rogue Valley Family YMCA still operates under that principle. Today, the RVYMCA has over 300 active volunteers providing caring support for children, families and communities in Jackson County.

The YMCA is committed to making their facilities available as a community resource.

A YMCA membership is a healthy, preventative alternative to many of the challenges facing individuals and families today-hectic pace, displacement, domestic unrest, substance abuse, etc. The YMCA provides a large variety of health enhancement and enrichment activities for people of all ages and abilities. Programs for seniors, disabled youth, individuals with M.S., teenage parents, adults maintaining a healthy lifestyle and recreation for kids are all offered at the YMCA with over 15,000 individuals participating each year.
